Computer Science

“Students should bring laptops and install on them, before the conference,
GameMaker Studio (a free version) available from the Internet http://www.yoyogames.com.
It is important to have this software installed prior to the event as school computers often require admin password; the password is unknown to students and we are helpless at the contest day.
The students should bring power chargers for their laptops. The students may also want to watch some simple GameMaker tutorials available on-line."

Great thanks,
Jerzy

Congrats Nada!!

Dear Nada,

First, let me say congratulations for your selection as a KY NCWIT winner for 2014 and this opportunity to represent Thomas Nelson High School.  I’m sure Malia Fredrickson, NCWIT Project Manager for Aspirations in Computing, has already contacted you regarding your selection.  This email will provide you with the details of the award event recognizing your achievement.  From your NCWIT application, I have also CC’d your parent/guardian and sponsoring teacher on this message in an effort to share this information with as many people as possible.

The Award Ceremony will take place on April 22nd on the floor of Rupp Arena in Lexington.  The ceremony will begin at 5 pm.  The NCWIT section of the award ceremony will be embedded in the overall STLP State Championship Awards event.

The Kentucky Department of Education’s STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program) has its annual culminating State Championship at the Lexington Convention Center, the Hyatt hotel, and Rupp Arena.  Over 4000 students from across Kentucky compete in dozens of different technology related categories and the “best of the best” are recognized at the STLP Awards show at the end of the State Championship day.  A big and exciting part of that awards show is the recognition of the KY NCWIT winners.
